OPTIONS

For members who find it difficult to concentrate or settle the MIND to use:

Option 1 – visualization technique of closing our eye imagine you are at a place were there is  water flowing over waterfall or looking at the waves at the  seaside and enjoy the movement and sound of water connecting to your breath, gradually direct your mind to listen to the sound of your breath as you inhale than exhale, feeling more relax both the body followed by the mind.

Option 2 –  the breathing technique to following the instruction: Sit comfortably and close your eyes. Take a few moments to “simply be”. Notice whatever is being experienced in the moment — sounds, physical sensations, thoughts, feelings — without trying to do anything about it.

Continue like this for a  while, allowing yourself to settle down.

Notice the changes of the weather pattern around, any settle sensation you feel is different, now bring the attention back to the breath. Simply observe the breath as it moves in and out as the body inhales and exhales. Notice how the breath moves in and out automatically, effortlessly. Don’t try to manipulate or force it in any way. Notice all the details of the experience of breathing — the sensing of the air moving in and out of the nose, the way the body moves as it breathes.

The mind will wander away from the breath — that’s fine, it doesn’t matter. That’s a part of the meditation! When you notice that you are no longer observing the breath, is the time to bring your attention back with minimum effort.

Let all of your experiences — thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations — come and go in the background of your awareness of the breath. Notice how all of your experiences — thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, awareness of sounds and smells — come automatically and effortlessly like the breath, is the way to continue our practice sitting comfortably enjoying this moment of stillness and emptying of our minds.

As soon as you settle down with our breath technique feeling calm and peaceful to gradually move effortlessly toward introducing a deeper visualization technique of seeing light flowing  from the top of the head around our heart slowly guiding  – the colour of light being Blue around lower body down to  your toe. As you breath in and out,  gradually  drawing our attention to see the colour change to a warm golden-yellow healing light all around the body and when you are ready start to project this lovely glow to move further away bringing into your mind members of the family, friends or any person, you would like to share your experience with .., all this should be done without any effort just relax and enjoy the whole experience.. You will notice that the  time will go very quickly, 20 – 30 minutes will seem short as  it will be soon time to come out of your meditation session.

Congratulation you have just completed your experience of being a meditator now join us each month.., HAPPY MEDITATION.

Mentally. physically and emotionally we are the same.  We each have the potential to good and bad and to be overcome by disturbing emotions such as anger, fear, hatred, suspicion and greed. These emotions can be the cause of many problems.  On the other hand if you cultivate loving kindness, compassion and concern for others, there will be no room for anger, hatred and jealousy.

“In Prayer we ask a question..,

In Meditation we receive the answer..,”

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi founder of the Transcendental Meditation

“Enjoy your life and be happy.
Being happy is of the utmost importance.
Success in anything is through happiness. More support of nature comes from being happy.
Under all circumstances be happy, even if you have to force it a bit to change some long-standing habits.
Just think of any negativity that comes to you as a raindrop falling into the ocean of your bliss.
You may not always have an ocean of bliss, but think that way anyway and it will help it come.
Doubting is not blissful and does not create happiness.
Be happy, healthy, and let all that love flow through your heart.”

WORLD MEDITATION FOR PEACE AND HEALING

Our Theme in the creative lounge for 2016 is LOVE and KINDNESS. both qualities we can relate to Mahatma Gandhi LIFE story.

mahatma-gandhi1111

“I offer you peace. I offer you love. I offer you friendship.

I see your beauty. I hear your need. I feel your feelings.

My wisdom flows from the highest Source. I salute that Source in you.

Let us work together. For unity and peace.”  -MAHATMA GANDHI.

Gandhiji’s life story is full of courage, determination and religious willpower.

His timeless message still holds true to combat injustice and cruelty with the means of love and truth.

His message can be used to solve today’s social, political and ecological problems.

Mahatma Gandhi taught us that we can bring harmony to our world by becoming champions of LOVE and PEACE, he led by example in following the Ten virtues and principles of LIFE that we can incorporate in our daily practices.

Gandhi Inspiration No2 WMFPH.Each month we will select one of his Ten virtues and principles of LIFE to our monthly meditation as our theme. This will help us to focus, learn and understand the values to enhance our life’s.

For our 31st WORLD MEDITATION DAY, our lesson from Mahatma Gandhi’s second virtue.

“An Eye for an eye will only make the whole World Blind”.

“If humanity is to progress, Gandhi is inescapable. He lived, thought, acted and inspired by the vision of humanity evolving toward a world of peace and harmony.” – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Gandhiji’s virtue of Life has many overtones and meanings we’ve had an  inspiring  month  interpreting and discussing some of them here in our Creative Lounge. I share here a poem,

Open Hearted: The heart is like a flower – unless it is open it cannot release its fragrance into the world.  The fragrance of the heart is made up of the qualities and virtues of our spirit.  Most of us have learned how to keep our heart closed in a world that would trample all over us if we let in.  Being open hearted today seems to require tremendous courage.  it is a courage that comes only when we realize that on one can hurt us, no matter what they say or do.  They may hurt our body, but if we have realized we are spirit, nothing outside can touch us if we so decide.”

The lesson for us all here is to understand Gandhiji’s second virtue, is to become more forgiving, and less resentful by cultivating diplomacy and compassion, in other words to be able to treat other as how you would like them to treat you.

No matter where we live, what religion we practice or what culture, at the heart of everything, we are all human beings. We all have the same ambitions and aspirations to raise our family and to LIVE LIFE to its fullest. Our cultural, religious and political differences should not provide the backbone to invoke conflicts that can only bring sorrow and destruction to our WORLD.

What have we learned from our task during the month of February?

How do you believe the changes will make a difference?

HAPPY MEDITATION TO ALL..,

BREATHE IN INHALE PEACE AND BREATHE OUT EXHALE LOVE TO ALL MEMBERS AROUND THE WORLD!!!

OUR GIFT TO ALL WHO COMPLETED OUR MONTHLY WORLD MEDITATION FOR PEACE AND HEALING
