My first impression is that the composition is comprised of a central image and two segments there of, but after closer observation I see the segments are not duplicate parts. It is an interesting composition with some wonderful color variations. I feel the impact is some what weakened by the strength of the ocher and some of the red violet ribon at the bottom portion of the painting
Loud and warm colors with breakage occurred from a couple of green leaves and usage of shadows created certain impact, depth and contrast. Back to the title” Three conditions” I wonder where are they, when there is a repeated pattern that is close to craft work more than a painting.
I find the access to this painting from either side. The center contains a full image and the sides are partial. Although they are different, they do read as forms that are related! The flowing color from both sides moving into the circle in the almost center of the canvas ties the painting together and brings unity. This rhythm is exceptionally interesting! And it is a form of static rhythm which is very powerful and draws the viewer’s eye back to the focal point again and again. The theme is “thought represents as an abstract expression” and I believe the composition achieves this! Thank you for your submission!
