Thank you for your submission. Although it is sometimes difficult to arrange a composition into a square, I believe you have been successful! The Mother and daughter are balanced by the lighter ring color on the left and area of light on the upper right side of the canvas. I look forward to seeing more of your art work.

Those who are familiar with Contemporary Indian and Oriental Art immediately mark who is Mother and Who is Daughter; as the woman in front with Bindi is the mother; and the daughter behind her.
Again behind the old house main door; architecturally depicting Haveli; the mansion where the aristocrats live or lived; they both are looking to the world outside where the daughter has to step out; The daughter follows the Mother and always behind her in her critical moments. The dual relationship that exists is one of the core anchor of Indian tradition.
Over all it is a great work; more symbolic then figurative. the use of light and shadow; pale background with coming out prominently two figures is a beautiful composition.

Yes the tradition bound Indian mother leads the daughter to face the world with confidence and yet be rooted to the traditional values.
