Santa Maria d’Avia by Esteve Navarrete Conesa
This is a colorful interpretation of the XII century Romanesque chapel of Santa Maria d’Avià. The composition is very similar to real landscape, and the girl in the foreground, is my daughter Marta, 11 years old.

Thanks so much for your submission. The use of color and various sources of light bring to my mind the Innocent Art Movement! I really appreciate your details and your skill in working with oil paints. The composition has a very dark tone in the earth above which draws my eye up to it. With this being so prominent, I immediately realize that we are in a fantasy! I look forward to seeing more of your art work!
I find the foreground very appealing with good light values and an excellent color perspective and so the bottom third of the painting works really well for me. As I move to the sky I feel the composition looses some of its appeal with the pale sky and cloud pattern. You are very skilled in handling you medium and you have a wonderful sense of color harmony.
Inexplicably it seems to me this work is crying out to be more of itself than what it is momentarily.
