Synthesis of colours; background and the figure ; all combine makes this a classic art work. Mike has done a convincing hard work and deserves our appreciation. some how the art has come up distinctly though titled `Abstract’.. Is it more an expressionism? realism? Our eyes are filled with totality of musical perspective balancing light and shadow. Bravo.
Color, light values and rhythm are in sync in this piece. Some of the emphasis on the primary subject, the piano is lost in the composition with a little too much emphasis on the bench and background. When I visually crop the piece, excluding part of the bench and background I find the piano takes on a dominate role and the overall impact of the work is greatly enhanced.
Thank you for your submission. I enjoy the fact that you have cropped the top of the piano and the legs of the bench as this brings the viewer immediately into the artwork. The details of brushwork on the piano are excellent. The background scale of brushwork is much larger and does take the viewers eye away from the piano. That being said this is an excellent abstract expressionistic painting and I hope you continue to evolve your art language. I look forward to seeing more of your art works!
Excellent use of colour, technique and perspective. Warm, vibrant artwork packed with energy! I like the use of varying technique from the background to that of the grand piano and stool, allowing them to be drawn to the forefront of the painting. Excellent work. I look forward to seeing more of this artists work in the future.
