  1. The array of colors and linear movement within the work have an abstract appeal and the composition would come together beautifully if the brilliance of the sun did not create such a strong attraction for the eye. The abstract quality, with the brilliant sun diminished or eliminated would move this work into the realm of abstraction and bring the composition to a higher level of appeal and significantly enhance it’s overall impact. Block out the sun and see how the piece comes together when presented as a purely abstract work.

  2. Thank you for your submission. I like the purity of these colors and the angle of line combined with the warmth of the tones above the sun give the feeling that the upper sky is moving forward in a cup like shape. The blue and green at the top end this experience. At first I kept wanting to turn the artwork upside down as this is not a usual position for the sun. After relaxing my eye, I got that the sun works with the sky as a shelter that is moving forward. That being said, you have many choices about this artwork and one of the choices would be to diminish the size and brightness of the sun which would assist the viewer to see the “whole artwork” easily.
