The man and the sea: two of the elements of a perfect mechanism called earth. Work realized on the occasion of a sad event happened in 2009 in the Gulf in Palermo. In a day of wind and sea gorsso two fishermen go out with their boat, they won’t make return any more. After days it will be found alone the boat with the broken tops in nannies of the waves. IN BALIA DELLE ONDE – 2009 tarsia lignea – cm. 60×48 Mare, immensità nota e sconosciuta, amica e amante, odio e amore, gioia e dolore, le mani Ti cercano, Ti sfiorano, le braccia Ti avvolgono. Mi tuffo dentro di Te quando calmo, sereno e disteso appari, e all’orizzonte solo una linea retta immaginaria, senza origine ne fine, nettamente Ti separa dal cielo. Invece, seduto sopra uno scoglio, da lontano ti guardo, ti ammiro, ti scruto e cerco di capirti, quando ribollì e le creste delle onde schiumeggiano in una danza frenetica, i marosi si infrangono sulla scogliera rompendo l’armonioso silenzio della natura. The Sea; a known and unknown immensity, a friend and lover, love and hate, joy and sorrow, hands seek you out, you skim, you wrap like armed embrace. I dive inside your calm, serene and relaxed appearance when the horizon is only an imaginary straight line; without origin or end, clearly separating you from the sky. Sitting on a rock, from a distance I look at you, admire you instead. I study and try to understand you, when broiling and the crests of the waves froth in a frenzied dance, the waves breaking on the reef breaking the harmonious silence of nature. I’m there waiting for a new day, new horizons, and to plunge back inside you and wrap you in a powerful embrace.
