Women with water pots in the Oasis by Martha De Cunha Maluf-Burgman
This is an original painting, oil on linen. The women with water pots in the Oasis is an example of hard work that many women in the world need to do every single day of their lives. The water will be a scarce and expensive resource in the near future (in The Netherlands is already expensive service and tax). The message is to take care of the water as natural resource of the humanity.

I love the implicit aridity despite itself.
The work is expressionist and the figures are a touch of the surreal creating a mirage like image contrasted with these figures resulting in an impact that makes the hot colors dance. The strength of the work is in the figures, sky and flat plane of land. The palm etc. on the left are an embellishment that somewhat diminish the powerful composition. Even so it is a wonderful work. I look forward to seeing more.
