My private dance of India

At the middle of the dust, infront of the endless sky there was a line of goddes playing music, dancing, praying, carring water and fire from earth to sky. from sky to earth. They were playing the music of heaven and hell; they were dancing inside my body. They were India.

  1. The light dances over the mystery of the spiritual figure. The excellent tonal quality is enhanced by the subtle violets and greens in the figure. The style you refer to, in my mind brings forth the word “Original”.

  3. The visual diction here, to my eye, captures a little too much of the known and popular iconic symbols to really capture any deeper mysticism of India. The mystery is evoked by the repetitive kaleidoscopic patterning drawn from the textural context of the original photograph, but not enough is done with it, to involve me in the storyline implied by the presence of the golden figure. It feels visually ”overtold”. Less is always more. It is as if there is too much telling and not enough shown, especially since it is titled ‘my private dance of india’ : I am missing the presence in the work of the artist; the real dancer is sadly absent.
