1. Benjamin, you’re a composer; A composer in space. The attitude & concentration of your bass player in perfectly expressed through the triangular composition arms/hands/ head & shoulders & the successful relation of masses between the flesh parts focuses on it. You setted something round, curvy, very physical.
   In order to push further into this vein I would have expected the curvy lines & curvy volumes of a bass to be fully exploited ( ..beautiful instrument indeed, so is a cello..), maybe by extending twice the format towards the bottom direction, as it seems restrained here & forced to adapt; The result would have been outstanding!
   I love the way you staged the jazz club atmosphere, a spotlight filling the corner up left, & its glow enlighting the hair fringe to the right. The range of various blues fits well too.

2. Complex in it’s simplicity, this piece vibrates through it’s light dark quality. It expresses a zone of reality that draws on the emotion and imagination of the viewer. The impact hightened by the white outline pulls the musucian forward with a crisp definition. The work is original and skillfully executed.
