The fragmented edges balance the strong impact of the eyes. The metallic powders are an interesting material giving the impression of a translucency that compliments the impression of the eyes. I would like to know more of what inspired the creation of this piece.
The eyes are saying what the mouth cannot say! There is a sense to this painting that reminds me of the old religious icons but the white brush strokes bring the art work right into contemporary times! I like this combination very much. You have handled the materials with much skill and I appreciate the use of the dry metallic powder around the eyes which really serves to bring them to the viewer’s attention. There is a wonderful form of balance going on here! I call it static or bouncing ball rhythm. That is when we are drawn into a painting and then our eyes go back again and again to the same area. These eyes are so compelling! Well done. And thank you for your submission.
