  1. The cry not heard but the feeling echoes through the viewers mind. What a powerful work expressed as a sculpture that touches the depth of the human soul crying to be nourished by feelings of love and understanding. The light values, colors and form all interplay in this emphatic statement. So well done Merce. Thank you.

  2. The first thought that I had when I viewed the sculpture was that if this was a painting, it would be a FAUVE work. The emotion is so vivid, the viewer cannot escape the raw pain. Also it feels a bit medieval as they used a torture device to contain prisoners heads. I feel the quintessential cry of the human soul and this is a great achievement. As well I like the composition; balance, proportions and light and dark contrast. Well done and thank you for your submission!

  3. In this work is flatly expressed the suffering of a human being when is living a deep condition of malaise; the same chosen medium and colors by the artist communicate it.
The features are twisted in a loud cry of pain and horror, in an attempt to break free from oppressive bars/agonies that seem impossible to remove.
It is a sculpture rich in pathos and drama that reminds of ancient Greek theatrical masks (prosopon) and, of course, the famous Munch’s painting “The Scream’.

  4. You already know I’m a fan of your sculptures & the meaning you wrote to me about. They are so expressive & in such pain…I so much want to open the bars & set them free.
I really appreciate that you wrote how you made them, I thought from the photos that you put real metal slabs around the heads. Excellent
