Dad Dead by Tali Neeman-Sabo

Dad Dead A while after my dad died I recovered memories I had repressed for many years. These memories totally changed my childhood story. It was a great shock and a big crisis. Of course I couldn’t take it up with him, he was already dead. I’m still working on the repercussions of the lost history I uncovered, and it has brought me both much grief and much growing.

  1. A deep silent composition, the dark figure dominating the canvas giving way to the figure in the background which is it’s life, standing in the light symbolically colored in green tones midst an imagery of a clouded past, intrigues me to feel the canvas through my eyes and psyche to find it’s full revelation. This artist has gone deep within to render this image. I applaud it’s originality and execution.

  2. This composition is definitely about crises as the two figures are leaving each other. Although the larger figure, with a white patch which reads as a dissolving area to me, are in opposition to each other – the small figure is in the light and symbolically colored green which signifies growth. The dichotomy of the two figures is one of separation or leaving. I like the division of space and although this leaves the larger darker figure in the foreground so that we enter the art work in the darkness, the rhythm of the work soon leads us out to the green figure in the light. Very in keeping with our theme of crises! Thanks so much for your submission.

  3. Congrats I wish I could see this art piece better it is really too dark with the black backaground. What I can see expresses “Crisis” quite well.
