subconsious prison 1 by Nehri Soylu
Sometimes I use surrealistic elements, like boat, which can fly in the sky on wheels and can travel into the river or wherever you want. This actually develop us in terms of the concept. The boat and moon are handled like that. The metaphysical sense: beyond the real life, there is a mystic atmosphere, an other space. My recent concept is about TİME. As you start to work on a specific form, the adventure begins. We go in a direction, from stories to stories, forms to forms. Sometimes the created form is not going on as we planned in our mind, comes as improvisation, and the design change. The projection is ending at the end of this process. The sense of mysticism and metaphysics can’t be seen in the beginning.

A subconscious prison realized into what feels to also be a meditative shrine beautifully proportioned by the touch of a mystic artist. The exterior texture contrasted by the smooth flowing moon are an intriguing representation to the eye and transform the markings on the interior from crisis to calm. Very well done.
Immediately I see a shrine and upon closer examination, I see the moon which can represent emotions. The balance between the open area at the front and the two openings at the top is dynamic. This creates a sense of movement to the whole art work. The surface texture on the exterior walls can be interpreted as a protective thickening of the wall. The random interior scratch marks, in a form of numbering 4 or 5, could indicate chaos.
In it’s totality, this is a mystical and dynamic art work representing the sheltering of emotions and confusion while at the same time giving space for reverence to this human condition! Well done and thanks for your submission.
An eloquent conceptual rendering of a psychological landscape. It does however lean more into the metaphysical than an expression of crisis in and of itself. The ambivalence is somewhat undermined by the rather emblematic prison wall scratchings, which work only could perhaps be less numerous for more impact.
