Together we are many by Lesley Oldaker

Together we are many, 200x180cm, oil on canvas, 2013
Inspired from National China Day, which I was lucky enough to see during my residency stay in Shenzhen, China. I used the DV inspiration to include symbolic gestures within my painting which represented my experiences. — at 华侨城创意文化园 OCT LOFT

  1. It is interesting how you entries have evolved into more use of color and its use is expressing a strengthened impact as the grays and colors compliment one another. I also feel a greater sense of movement from the figures in this piece. I look forward to seeing more.

  2. Thanks so much for your submission. The rhythm, colors, tones and balance come together to create this lively composition. I appreciate your skill in using oil paints. The figures seem a little closer to the viewer in this one. What an inspiration your residency provided you with. And now for all of the viewer to enjoy these excellent paintings.

  3. We already know your abilities for cityscapes rendering, rythmic composition, perspective & your recent introduction of colour. What does appear to me particularly interesting in this one is all what’s happening in the thin zone between the red banners fall & the crowd gathered around the showcases; What a colour blink there!
