Merlin’s birth by J P Canale
Original Piece. As the title explains; It depicts my version of the magician´s birth; Where God(profile of a man)and mother earth(tree), merge together thru the sacrifice of an alien-like rabbit creature, to give life to such powerful being. There´s a suggested city in the back,(lower-left) implying that life begins in nature, not big cities. For me Merlin represents the magic in life. The one that is hardly ever noticed.

Very beautifully executed with light values that underline the mystique of the character. The monochromatic depiction creates a field of depth contrasting the central theme with great impact which compliments the intrigue created by the release of you imagination in the entire work. Truly original and exceptional.
