Passing of Time by Lesley Oldaker

Inspired by a recent moment stood in front of the Nuremberg Gate, Berlin, during the beautiful hours of twilight. Groups of people were gathering, interacting and moving about with some sense of purpose and I became emotionally connected and aware of past times at the Gate.

  1. The positioning of the monochromatic foreground melding through the crowd to the soft hues of color on the structures with the linear geometric shapes of the buildings brings forth a wonderful sense of proportion. As always you consistently reflect a mastery of the material and artistic expression from within. Very well done.

  2. I really appreciate your authentic art language; confident in brush strokes, delicate use of colors, highly contrasting tones, the architecture and the human elements all caught in the reflections at the bottom of the canvas. Truly a stunning composition. The monotones give a sense of history and the loose brush work speaks of emotions. Thanks for your submission and I do look forward to seeing more of your art work.
